Being fond of Japan, Japanese culture, and Japanese music, I’ve become a fan of the Tokyo-based Wagakki Band. They have a neat sound, combining modern instruments with traditional Japanese ones, and their lead singer has a great voice. One of my favorites of their work is their cover of an old Japanese song, Yoshiwari Lament, which is oddly enough a song about a young woman sold into prostitution; but the Wagakki band manages to give it an upbeat sound. Check it out.
