Animal’s Hump Day News

Happy Hump Day!

Summers here are short, but summer chores are in many ways more involved than in winter. Given the amount of snow we get, after about mid-December, a good part of our property is under a foot or two of white stuff.  But now, in summer?  That’s when everything has to be cleaned up, then kept mowed, the raspberry patch cleaned up the berries harvested, and so on…  Anyway, let me get you all some links, then it’s off to mow.

Now then…

On To the Links!

Yes, because they are corrupt.

No shit, Sherlock.

Because they aren’t stupid?

This should come as a surprise to no one.

And he has been since 2021.

Biden won’t say anything more intelligible than “bibble.”

They can see what side their bread is buttered on.

Dammit, Piers Morgan, stop making me like you!

This should be at least 99%.

If he loses PA, MI, and WI, it’s a blowout. And Iowa is making it look a lot like that might be the case.

Rural voters might just be what saves America.

This is something of an understatement.

This Week’s Idiots:

MSNBC’s Steve Benen is an idiot.

MSNBC’s Hayes Brown (Repeat Offender Alert) is an idiot.

Vox’s Ian Millhiser is an idiot.

Well, that’s a stupid idea.

The Guardian’s Richard Wolffe is an idiot.

MSNBC’s Max Burns is an idiot. (Anyone else noticing a pattern?)

The Nation’s Brett Christophers is an idiot.

This Week’s Cultural Edification:

In 1972, I was eleven years old, Richard Nixon was President, and the band America was commonly heard on the radio.  That was the year that America released their album Homecoming, with the song Ventura Highway.

Flash forward 36 years, to the summer of 2008.  I was on a consulting gig in southern California, and on one trip to the site, I picked up a spanking-new Mustang convertible for my rental car.  I was there over a weekend and found myself driving to Ventura, California, with this song playing, the top down, the sun shining, and found myself experiencing what California could be – instead of what it’s become.  Anyway, here; it’s a great song.
