Animal’s Hump Day News

Happy Hump Day!

The big news of the week is Ron DeSantis dropping out of the GOP Presidential contest.  It’s the right time to do this, but boy howdy, if this isn’t a clear illustration of the bizarre behavior our political process engenders, I don’t know what is.  Former President Trump spent months calling Ron DeSantis every name in the book; DeSantis dropped out of the race, and suddenly Trump is singing his praises and saying he’s honored to have the Florida Governor’s endorsement.  That’s how the game is played, of course, but it’s a great illustration of how straining at gnats and swallowing camels is a required skill in American politics.

Now then…

This Week’s Cultural Edification:

This is a bit longer than my usual pieces, but we’ll just power through it; one of my favorite bits of classical music is Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite. Here, from the Kristiansand Symphony Orchestra, are both parts of that epic production. Enjoy.
