Animal’s Hump Day News

Happy Hump Day!

I’m not sure if it’s a sign that the ‘rona madness is ending on a global scale, but I’ve started having people reach out on potential overseas consulting gigs again – something that hasn’t happened since April 2020. One guy I know is bidding on a global-scale project, and if he gets it, I’ll be on the short list of consultants to staff the project; he’d want me working with the Japan operation, since he knows I’ve worked there before and understand things well enough to get the job done.

I love Japan.

That’s assuming Japan opens up even to business travelers by then.  For all I know the work my again be 100% remote, which honestly, much as I love Japan, not having to leave Alaska wouldn’t exactly be a deal-breaker.

What happens with business travelers in Japan (or anywhere else) over the next year or so, of course, is anyone’s guess.  But it’s a sign of things slowly, slowly returning to some semblance of normal, to which I can only say, “it’s about damn time.”

And so…

On To the Links!

When it comes to Supreme Court nominations, after what happened to Kavanaugh, the right doesn’t owe anyone jack shit.

Biden(‘s handlers) have no good answers, period.

Turns out some ‘sea serpent’ sightings may have been… whale penises?

I love a happy ending.

Townhall’s Derek Hunter asks, is Joe Biden stupid or a liar?  I’d point out that the two are not mutually exclusive.

Used cars cost 40% more than last year.  I’m sure it’s all due to greed on the part of used-car dealers, which never happened before this year.

I may actually watch this year’s State Of the Union just to see the President stumble, mumble and drool his way through the program while the legacy media hairpieces gush about how leaderly and articulate he is.

Spokesdroid Jen Psaki caught lying – again.

Canadian PM Zoolander goes nuclear.

Why is the Biden(‘s handlers) Administration trying to shush up a report on Dominion voting systems?

Lying liars gonna lie.

Meanwhile, in Florida, DeSantis is kicking ass in the polls.

Once in a while Californey dodges a stupid bullet.

This Week’s Idiots:

CNN’s Abdul El-Sayed is an idiot.

The Guardian’s April England-Albright, Cliff Albright and LaTosha Brown are all idiots.

Robert Reich (Repeat Offender Alert) is still a sawed-off little runt, and an idiot.

MSNBC’s Hayes Brown (Repeat Offender Alert) is an idiot.

Salon’s Heather Parton is an idiot.

CNN’s John Harwood is an idiot.

CNN’s Chris Cillizza (Repeat Offender Alert) is an idiot.

This Week’s Cultural Edification:

Here’s an interesting piece, from two giants of American music.   Not sure what year this is from, but from the ages of the two performers, I’m guessing mid-late Sixties.  This is Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan, with a live performance of Dylan’s One Too Many Mornings.  It’s a neat bit; the Man in Black and America’s Songwriter putting their talents together.  Enjoy!
