Why the change in normal Rule Five headlines today, you ask?  Well, some juxtapositions are too good to pass up, and some people are just too much fun to piss off.

Which brings me to these idiots.

Now, by way of telling you where I sit before I tell you where I stand:  I’m no more religious than I am the King of Norway, but I do have respect for other people’s beliefs, and I understand the peace of mind and solace religion brings many people.  I don’t share those beliefs, but freedom of conscience is a basic, underlying American principle, enshrined in our First Amendment.  I’m also an old-school Goldwater Republican, and it chaps my butt to see morons like this continually associated with the political right – as though the political left didn’t have nutbars of their own.

But, as we see all too often in the Middle East, some people warp religion to their own ends, while others just believe weird shit in the name of their professed “faith.”

Here are a few tidbits from the website linked above, with my comments added:

Darwin’s doctrine of evolution (from which present-day Darwinians are publicly keeping their distance) depicts the “gorilla” and the “negro” occupying evolutionary positions between the “baboon” and the “civilized (caucasion) races of man.”

If modern biologists are “keeping their distance” from statements like this, it’s because they’re staggeringly stupid.  No biologist who comprehends the difference between ass and face thinks black people occupy an “evolutionary position between baboon” and white people.  Not one.  Anywhere.  The genetic differences among all humans – everywhere – are infinitesimally small.  Humans have considerably less genetic variation than do chimps.

More:  Prior to the flood, there was an actual water canopy high above the sky that encompassed the earth (Genesis 1:6-8). This water canopy served many purposes, one of which was to block ultraviolet killer rays from the sun. The importance of this piece of information when it is coupled with geography will become apparent a few paragraphs from here.

A water canopy?  Really?  One might ask what suspended that water canopy in the sky – and one might also ask why God apparently suspended the laws of physics.  See, that water canopy, in order to remain suspended, would have had to have somehow exerted a downward pressure equal to the weight of that water – Sir Isaac Newton knew this – and therefore all these Biblical types pre-Noah would have lived in conditions equivalent to being under several hundred atmospheres pressure.

It would, of course, take an entire book to debunk all the nitwittery found on that mind-numbingly idiotic web site.  And one could write an entire library debunking all the stupidity of every stripe found in the intarwebs.  But sometimes, it’s fun just to surf one of these crackpot sites, just for shits and grins – and occasionally take a poke at them in our own web presence.

I hope, I really hope, that they would object to the display of the Feminine Aesthetic presented here, in the midst of discussion of their stupidity.  That would really be the icing on the rhetorical cake.
